Cosmic Shell is a studies based on a research that I wrote in “Manifest: Nouvelle Photographie”. The work is about the emancipation from the overflow of images that we have daily access to. In response to this visual congestion, I decided to work on the link between abstraction and the representation of the subject in different visual context.
All the images are taken from my own archive of production where the experience is the main topic.
I was interested in alternative energy, archeology, study of animals, human relationship, scientific vulgarisation or homemade experiences. Cosmic Shell is the result of the links between several kinds of typologies of images and how they interact together in a dialectic and formal way.
I wanted to experiment how the micro and the macro, the representation of the subject and the abstraction, the form and the light are merging around the experience to accentuate a fragmented sight of the world.
The result of this work is like shaking a big encyclopaedia where every subjects are mixed together to creat new connections.
